... and happy new year to everyone, I'll be traveling around the next days, so meet you here again in 2006 !
Famous blogger Loïc Le Meur, VP Exec Europe at Six Apart did a podcast interview with our french Minister Nicolas Sarkozy ! But not only that, he also offered him his latest book and an iPod for Christmas !

You certainly know our famous french brand Hediard, whose "shops are characterized by a large range of delicatessen products (about 6 000 items), from both local and distant lands, which privilege quality over fashion, and by the exceptional presentation of their products. Perfumes, colours and images reflect the seasons and evoke rarity, exoticism and authenticity."
I bought last Thursday (the 15th December) a 1 kg box of their fruit pastes, famous around the world, that you can see on the picture below to make a gift :
Do you know what ? This person I've given the fruit pastes found they had some "special", "bizarre", taste, she had a careful look on the box and was astonished to read they had past their sale-by date: October 2005 !!! We are now the 19th December !!
We gave a call to the shop, and still more surprizing, the answer we got: "you must have taken a product off the shelf" ...
Indeed, that's what I did. Seems like I shoudn't have done so. Seems like it isn't the first time this has happened to them. Humm.... Bad PR guys....
How can such a brand dare to do such things. Are they playing with tourists who won't be cautious enough to check the sale-by date prior to flying back home with their products, is it this kind of image that traditional French brands like Hediard should promote ??
I am furious to a point you can't possibly imagine, but thankfully I live in Paris, and I am going to go back to the shop, and let me tell you I am going to write here exactly the way they are going to react. Hope they know what customer service means. Hope also they heard about the blogosphere...
Market Sentinel published a white paper measuring the influence of bloggers on corporate reputations, available to download as pdf file.
Sheila Sang, Market Sentinel's Online Publishing Director gave us her thoughts on this case study as she came at Les Blogs 2.0.
I've just uploaded about 10 photos I took at Les Blogs 2.0 on my Flickr account, and there are now exactly 3535 photos tagged lesblogs, just few hours after the ending of our conference !! This is just incredible ...
Amazing to see all the laptops, quite as much as attendees, this is really something I never saw anywhere else than at bloggers conference ! Thanks to the great job that WaveStorm's team did, we never lost the network and the wifi has not been down, probably a first time in the history of blogging conference... ;o) So definitely, if you need someone to manage your wifi hotspot, they are the one to call !

Well, it is not really about search engines, but rather looks like search engine agregators. The first one I'd like to mention is the one you can see on the right vertical column of my blog, a free one, that you can get there and is called the "Blogbar". As you can see, you can install it on your own blog.
It's really a great tool as you can get by just one click results of the major blog search engines, web search engines or even both at the same time, depending of your request. It is opening automatically a window for each search engine, and makes it really easy to launch a request on one key world and compare the results. You can also customize it to keep the same look as your blog's one. A nice way to save time ...
Blogbar provides you with results coming out of the main search engines as you can see below:
The other one I'd like to mention, Talk Digger is a little bit different as it is dedicated to search based on URL address, and provides you with the number of results coming out from Bloglines, BlogPulse, Feedster, Technorati, Icerocket, BlogDigger, PubSub, MSN Search and Google. This one is called Talked Digger and is available in a beta version.
Talk Digger is a new way to join and follow discussions over the Internet:
It seems like if you want to listen to the online world, you have to new tools that are customized to help one be more efficient ! Definitely worth trying both of them !
